Tibetan Children's Education Center is now holding multi-literacy classes in Tibetan, English, French and Chinese languages from the first day of July. Classes are offered free to Tibetan nationals and by requested donations from foreigners.
Why Chinese Language?
We believe that understanding Chinese is crucial to Tibetans, since Tibetan people, culture, and religion are oppressed and mistreated under Chinese rule. This gap can only be bridged through linguistic and cultural interaction. For this purpose, we have arranged a space for interested participants to study Chinese.
Objectives
Our purpose of holding such classes is to increase the literacy rate among Tibetans as well as others and to promote global communication.
We are also looking for volunteer teachers in English and French on both long-term and short-term periods. Volunteering is an amazing opportunity to learn about other cultures, as well as reaping the endless rewards that come from sharing your time and knowledge with others.
